Tultul, a rare organic salt from Guimaras, Philippines, is crafted using a meticulous process. Seawater is repeatedly filtered through the ashes of various washed-up plant material until it reaches the desired salinity. This salty water is then slowly cooked with coconut milk to solidification. Tultul comes as a compact salt block, offering a long shelf life.
This ancient tradition, rooted in the Hoskyn barangay, is now practiced by only a few.
